Snowboarding tricks advice/help?

okaay so iv been boarding for about 5-6 years now. I learned to board pretty quickly considering i taught myself. I can go down black diamond hills with carving and such. But i want to start to learn tricks. Its summer and iv looked into many snowboarding camps but all are to far and involve plane ride. Im wondering what some good things are to kind of get used to some tricks? I have a big back yard so would something like just putting my snowboard on and trying ground tricks? I do not have a trampoline but i do have rails for skateboarding? in the future i want to get into more competitive snowboarding. So any sort of advice would be much apreciated! Thankss !
