Repost: Girls have you ever led a guy on and ended up hurting him?

Girls do this all the time to me. It is like they enjoy the attention; they will even initiate activities with just the two of us such snowboarding and surfing and be affectionate with me. One girl I knew tried to pay for everything we did. However, as soon as I start to show feelings towards them (which I really try to hide I might add) I get abandoned. Is there a rational explanation for this or is life just supposed to suck like this.
