How did the campaign to have the USA ratify the Treaty of versailles impact on Wilson himself?

While on the campaign tour to have the public support the Treaty and, specifically, Wilson's League of Nations, President Wilson became so ill that he cut the tour short and returned to Washington DC where he suffered a stroke.
