Girls have you ever led a guy on which has led to him being hurt?

I have felt several girls whom I have spent time with have led me on. Often they were the ones who asked me to go surfing or snowboarding. One girl even insisted on paying for everything. I have had girls tell me very personal things about themselves and former relationships that I don't believe they have shared with others yet when I show affection I'm abandoned. Is there a rational explanation for what I have been experiencing or is life just supposed to suck?
