How to prepare my Huskies for Mushing / Sledding?

Hey guys! Just wondering how to get my Huskies ready for mushing. I'm finishing up my Welding apprenticeship in College and my Vocational School hooked me up with a welding job in Alaska. Most people didn't want the job for the harsh environment of Alaska, but I'm pretty thrilled. The job is in Anchorage Alaska, but they're supplying me with a house in a village about 15 miles from it. So I'll have a huge backyard and a vast frozen tundra to explore. I have 2 Huskies right now and they're only 10 months I got them when they were 2 months old( they're brother and sister I got them together), and my parents offered to get me 4 more as a kind of "Congratulations for starting your life" present. And skiing/snowboarding doesn't really interest me so my past time will be mushing. My welding apprenticeship will be done in about a year, and I thought this amount of time would be good to start training them...Before anything about how expensive it will be to maintain 6 dogs know that they are paying for my housing and I really don't spend my money on anything and come from a fairly wealthy background. So any tips on any activities I can start them on will be appreciated By the way I live in the deep South, so really won't be able to do anything with snow until November-ish.
