How do I set up an LAN connection between 2 Xbox 360s?

So, my bro and I have been wishing we could play saint's Row 2 together for the longest time. I figure we can set up an LAN party for he and I to play together. In this case would An LAN party even work? We have a bad internet connection, I mean horrible so online play is out, Do we need a good connection?and what will I need to set up the LAN party?
