Gopro camera question?

is a newer model of the gopro camera going to come out anytime soon. I wanna buy one but dont know if i should wait. I want one for snowboarding season so i really have no rush in buying one till december so by then do you think they will come out with a newer one?? if so, What ideas are there of the new features? would it be thinner, cuz i kinda hate how the gopro is a little thick.
